The Southern Region has always been an active and lively group, providing plenty of opportunities for social and field meets over the years. The region covers Greater London, Kent, East & West Sussex, and Middlesex, with some members also joining us from Essex, including our Chairman.

In recent times, we’ve been pleased to welcome several Wessex members to our meetings – both new faces and old friends from the original Southern Region, who were members with us until the creation of the Wessex Region. A warm welcome to all!

At present, all Southern Region committee members are serving in acting positions. We also have a Facebook page and a WhatsApp group to help keep everyone connected. If you would like to join, feel free to reach out to a committee member. Please note, if you join the WhatsApp group, your phone number will be visible to all members.

After a quiet period over the summer months, we’ve recently held meetings in Dover, Ticehurst, and Newdigate in Surrey. We encourage members to suggest more venues for future gatherings across the region’s counties. Once these meetings become more regular, we plan to hold an AGM to help move the region forward.

Field meets for both longwings and shortwings are also in the works, thanks to the generous invitation of one of our members. We are always grateful for any offers of land to host these events.
